• Learn to laugh at yourself.

Let’s face it. Nobody’s perfect. I don’t think a statement has ever rang more true. Everyone makes mistakes, so instead of feeling like learning from these mistakes is punishment, learn to laugh at yourself. Humor it and take it lightly. Think to yourself, “in the grand scheme of things, is this really going to matter?”. In order to effectively learn from your mistakes you need to approach it with a sense of humor. If not, then that mistake will get under your skin and you won’t learn from it at all. If you associate that mistake with personal harsh criticism it will do quite the opposite. If it becomes a negative thought, and becomes something that is dwelled upon, then your future endeavors may be hindered. Plus, if these thoughts snowball your confidence can be crippled.

This ideology doesn’t just tie into mistakes you make in your daily life, but with how you view yourself. If you’re able to accept yourself for who you are, and laugh at your own quirks you can take the serious edge off of life. Who likes to live life with a number of heavyburdens on their back? Taking life humorously makes you more comfortable with yourself and the things you wish to accomplish. If you’re going to venture out and try something new being able to find humor in yourself is going to open you up for success. Who cares if someone might laugh at what you’re doing? Laugh at yourself too and find the genuine humor that’s in your life.
